Location: Overlooks a tranquil lake

Rooms: 70 rooms with stunning views

Dining: Newly refurbished ROW 48 restaurant

Business: Dedicated event spaces with IT solutions

Activities: Access to Nene Park and outdoor fun

“What stands out here is the serene lakeside setting, not often found so close to Peterborough's center. While the bar and restaurant have been smartly updated, guest rooms show their age. I find the event spaces surprisingly well-equipped for business needs, though breakfast service appears inconsistent.”

Review summary
Based on recent reviews
Powered by AI
The Dragonfly Hotel Peterborough is often praised for its spacious rooms, some featuring two TVs and, wonderfully, offering views of the rowing lake. Many guests appreciate the hotel's location on the outskirts of town, with a pub next door and Orton Mere river and lock gates within walking distance; it is also conveniently a short bus ride from the station. The bathroom cleanliness is generally well-regarded, and the walk-in showers are a plus; however, a few guests have noted occasional issues with hanging space in the rooms. Guests can enjoy a happy hour area facing a pleasant lagoon and a spacious dining area.

I appreciated the helpful staff at the bar. Samantha was particularly kind. she provided excellent service with a smile. she even assisted with taking photos, which i found very thoughtful. i also enjoyed the lemon tart at the restaurant. It was delicious.
Upon arrival, i was misdirected to my room and spent time searching. i found my room was actually right by the reception desk. This was a minor inconvenience.

The staff were friendly. Parking was available.
The room was not what I expected. The shower head leaked. Water got everywhere. I also found there was no hot water in the sink or shower, despite warning signs about hot water temperatures.

a decent stay

lakeside viewspacious roomcomfortable roomimpractical roombed gapdisability access
the location was perfect. i had a room with a lakeside view, something i've not had on previous visits. the room was really comfortable and spacious.
the room was adapted for people with disabilities, so it was very impractical for me. there was nowhere to hang my coat. the bed was two pushed together with a gap.

repeat visit confirmed quality

nice locationhelpful staffrelaxed breakfastparking bill
The hotel was easy to find. it is set in a nice location. staff were great too assist. i enjoyed the freedom within the breakfast area. It was very relaxed. an additional chair was supplied when i asked for one.
i used the car park and got a ticket to put in my vehicle. i then received a parking bill, despite following the instructions. the private company that manages this car park seems awful. i would avoid parking here as it's pot luck if you're going to get a ticket or not.
Dining
8/10
the breakfast had a good selection of items. the menu was a little restricted for the evening meal if you cannot have cheese. the staff were very obliging and made adjustments. it was good.
Rooms
9/10
The room was a good size and very clean. an iron and ironing board were supplied. tea and coffee facilities were available. a slip mat was provided. The shower cubicle was spacious.
