“Chapter One, an adults-only boutique hotel near Weymouth Beach, clearly focuses on detail, with uniquely decorated rooms in a Grade Two listed building. The complimentary breakfast and leisure activities add to its appeal, although its location at a traffic junction might be a consideration. Overall, I find the hotel's charm and personalized service quite remarkable.”

Review summary
Based on recent reviews
Powered by AI
Chapter One offers a boutique hotel experience with an eclectic style and a Jo Malone scent that guests often appreciate. Its location is ideal, right on the seafront and close to shops and restaurants, and some rooms, like the "Great Expectations" room, even include the corresponding book. The Italian breakfast, while appreciated for its superb coffee, may be considered limited in choice by some, and parking can be a little challenging. the spacious rooms, some offering lovely views with binoculars provided, and quality bedding make for a comfortable stay.

A Literary Gem by the Sea

helpful hostpersonal touchdelicious coffeeparking challenge
My stay became special because of Steve, the host. He provided invaluable suggestions on local attractions. I was happy he offered a personal touch, so rare these days. Continental breakfast felt delicious and revitalizing, particularly its coffee.
I found parking a little challenging. The Park Street car park requires a short walk. Unloading luggage near the hotel entrance needs planning.
Location

Located opposite Kings Statue is lovely. One can easily walk to the Wetherspoons William Harvey pub. The area lends itself to good photography, a place where memories begin.
Rooms

Our room felt themed after a novel. The bookish decor resonated beautifully through the space. Air conditioning kept the room comfortable. I appreciated how quiet everything became at night.
Dining

Continental breakfast served Sundays felt special. The flavors were wonderful and coffee good. I hope I can soon experience Halls Kitchen with its generous portions. The town provides places for every taste.

Room service existed and was acceptable for a short stay.
The advertised air conditioning unit was a portable model. It was excessively noisy and made sleep difficult. The cost of the room felt too high for the amenities provided.
