“The Ollerod charms as a proper country house, enhanced by a genuinely attentive staff. Beaminster proves a worthy base for Dorset exploration, but the hotel itself makes a strong case for lingering, especially given the accomplished kitchen-a three-AA-Rosette distinction well-earned. I particularly appreciate the blend of historic character and considered, modern comforts.”

charming stay

really good breakfast helpful staff beautiful decoration
The breakfast was fantastic. A wonderful selection was available. the staff were helpful. They provided candles and extra bedding during a power outage caused by a storm. the room was beautifully decorated. It seemed like i entered a beautiful home, not a corporate hotel.
The food in the restaurant was not up to standard. My son's lamb dish consisted mostly of fat, and there was little meat in his portion. i mentioned this to the receptionist, but she did not apologize and seemed indifferent to the issue. i wrote to the hotel, but i did not receive a reply.
Location
9/10
the hotel is in a village and is close to mapperton hall, which suited my business needs. the building itself is historical and beautiful, it provides a scenic backdrop for the stay. i found the village to be quite charming.
Rooms
8/10
The room was a good size, it provided comfort and was decorated creatively with artwork. i was grateful for an upgrade, which enhanced my experience. my beautiful double room was lovely. It had quality furnishings though the light pull was chipped.
Facilities
9/10
The hotel offers a beer garden, it gives a great space to relax. dinner was delicious. Breakfast service was friendly in a scenic room. Though the lamb dish had only two pieces. the quality supper was nice though the location was perfect! though the parking was expensive.

I paid far too much for my room. My room, a 'Superior Double or Twin Room', had awful smells coming from the kitchen extractor fan whenever I opened the window. The room was also far too hot. The furnishings looked pretty worn, and the bed linen was quite rough. I was pretty disappointed overall.
