a somewhat disappointing experience
black moldpeeling vinyl
the room was dated. the bathroom had black mold. the furniture showed peeling vinyl. the food was not excellent, especially considering the price, and breakfast items were missing. these issues significantly detracted from my stay.

the staff were really good for my daughter's 21st birthday party. all guests stayed overnight and enjoyed the breakfast (a great start to the day!). the hotel managers were very helpful and was really good.
the bed was somewhat dated and not perfectly comfortable.

gorgeous ballroomdirty floorbroken tiles
we had mother's day lunch there and it was acceptable. the ballroom looked gorgeous. all our courses were plentiful and tasty.
i stayed there for a wedding, and the room was disappointing. the floor hadn't been hoovered, and there were black marks over the walls. the bathroom was terrible, with broken tiles and dirt. i wouldn't expect that standard for the price i paid.

The Executive Double Room felt very cozy. The staff was ever SO attentive, they were ALWAYS smiling. Breakfast was a pure delight each morning, such a wonderful start to the day.

my husband and i had our wedding here in august 2024. the staff were amazing from start to finish and the food was very nice. jasmine and craig francis are grateful for our gorgeous wedding, it was a perfect place for a perfect day.

our room was comfortable and spacious with wonderful views over the town. magnificent fireplaces added to the appeal and the breakfast was delicious. the wood panelled bar was also comfortable. it was really nice to have great service in a proper hotel.

christmas day lunch was perfectly executed by the great team. a lovely welcome was received at the entrance and there was a cosy lounge. polite young staff served pre lunch drinks and canapés. there was just the right amount of time between courses.

the building inside and out is lovely with beautiful gardens too. the surroundings are fine and would make a perfect wedding venue. this hotel is a grand picturesque country house. its beautiful exterior and interior homely feel brings out the building's history.
