Rooms: Comfort and Amenities
Big Island Retreat offers 11 accommodations with coffee/tea makers and ceiling fans. Each room has a ceiling fan, floor fan, and screened windows. Some rooms feature a balcony with sea views, and some rooms also boast a kitchen fitted with an oven. This room has a separate detached private bathroom with bath. This double room features a balcony with partial ocean views, kitchenette and tea/coffee maker. Accommodations include premium bedding and free WiFi. The well-equipped kitchenette has a refrigerator, kitchenware, a microwave and a toaster. A single parking space is available per unit booked; smaller vehicles are recommended.
Dining: Outdoor Kitchen Gazebo
Guests have a cup of Kona coffee on your lanai or in the outdoor kitchen gazebo. There aren't onsite restaurants. Guests often 'talk story ' while preparing meals in a space. Guests will appreciate convenient onsite amenities such as barbecue grills and a picnic area. Tea and coffee facilities, a sitting area, and a dining table are provided.
Leisure: Beach and Activities
Big Island Retreat is a great place to bask in the sun with sun loungers, beach umbrellas, and beach towels. Guests can enjoy activities in-and-around Kailua-Kona, like snorkeling, diving and cycling. Guests walk down to snorkel with yellow tangs and turtles. It is within a 7-minute walk of Kahaluu Beach and an 18-minute walk of White Sand Beach. Kahalu' u Beach Park is very popular for snorkeling and surfing.

Big Island Retreat is in the heart of Kahaluu Bay, a walkable area in Kailua-Kona with good shopping. It's located 4 miles from the heart of Kona Town. Nearby landmarks include Magic Sands Beach Park (1.5 km), Keauhou Shopping Center (1.5 km), and Kona Country Club. The property is also close to Pahoehoe Beach Park (2 km), Heeia Bay (2 km), and Keauhou Bay (2 km). Magic Sands and Haikuua are both 1.5 km away.
Services: Laundry and Beach
Beach equipment and limited laundry facilities are available in the atrium of the main house. Check-in time is after 3:00 p.m. (HST) and check-out time is before 11:00 a.m. (HST). The nearest airport is Ellison Onizuka Kona International at Keāhole Airport (20 km/25 km away). Big Island Retreat does not have air conditioning. Certain bookings for the purpose of group events or parties, including pre-wedding stag/bachelor and hen/bachelorette parties are considered.

Is there a swimming pool or jacuzzi available on the property?

No swimming pool or jacuzzi is available, but Kahalu'u Bay, located just across the street, is an excellent spot for various water activities, including snorkeling and surfing.
Are beach chairs and umbrellas included in the rooms, or can they be borrowed?
