Unique Art Concept
DRUUM is a B&B with an art concept located at Rue du Houblon 63, next to Rue Antoine Dansaert and a 10-minute walk from Grand Place. The B&B occupies a mansion built in 1840, which later became a factory making pipes, cigarette holders, and jewelry. Each of the six rooms is designed by a different artist or art collective, creating a unique interaction between living and art. Temporary exhibitions and art events are staged in the former jewelry vault in the basement, known as the 'Coffre-Fort' Artists Club gallery. A near-infinite number of installations and objects derive form from the intricate nature of the mandala's geometry.
Rooms & Amenities
Each room has been designed to create a unique living space. Suite rooms feature hardwood floors and large windows. All rooms include a private bathroom equipped with high-quality fixtures and free toiletries, a hairdryer, and bedsheets. The rooms have no TV. The Matthieu Manche room includes a bed, chair, and table. The David Bade-designed room features colored lights and paper on the windows, as well as sculptures. An extra bed is available upon request for the Matthieu Manche and Aurore Brun rooms. A crib may be added, subject to availability.
Breakfast Details
Breakfast is served in the kitchen at a dining table between 8:00 and 10:00 on weekdays and between 8:30 and 10:30 on weekends. Early breakfast may be possible by request. A typical Belgian breakfast includes coffee, tea, fresh juices, bread, cold meats and cheeses, yoghurt, and more. The breakfast includes fresh orange juice, muesli, artisan breads, home-made jams, charcuterie and cheese - all Belgian-sourced as far as possible.
Location and Transport
Located in central Brussels, DRUUM is less than a mile to the northwest of the Grand Place and a tram ride to the Gare du Midi. The Sainte-Catherine metro station is a 7-minute walk, with buses and trams nearby. The Central and South train stations are 15 minutes away by tram or metro. The fancy Sablon area is 2 km away, as is Mont des Arts. The stimulating MIMA is across the canal. Zaventem Airport is 20 km away, accessible by public transport.
Hotel Services
B&B Druum offers free full breakfast and free WiFi in public areas. A shared kitchen is available for guests. Private parking is available at €15 per day for cars/minivans and €10 per day for motorcycles. Self check-in is possible from 15:00, and check-out is before 11:00.
“B&B Druum stands out with its individually designed rooms, each a unique artistic statement within a historic 1840 mansion. The focus on local craftsmanship and sustainable practices, along with its proximity to Grand Place, makes it a distinctive Brussels experience. For those seeking a blend of culture and comfort, it offers an intriguing and memorable stay.”
