understated stay had a couple issues
subpar food room door
the place looked good initially, but a few things bothered me. first, the breakfast wasn't great. my order was wrong and the food quality was subpar. then, our room's door had gaps. we could hear noise all night. it was hard to sleep soundly.

a charming stay
good variety daily newspaper easy access
I found the breakfast quite nice. The continental selection had good variety. daily newspapers were available (a lovely touch!). the hotel's proximity to the gloucester road tube station made getting around so easy.
The room felt a little warm. Opening the window helped only somewhat.

our superior double room included daily cleaning and trash bin emptying, which i appreciated. i had a nice, clean room ready even before the check-in time. the staff really made sure my room was comfortable.

underwhelming experience
limited options breakfast items
the location was acceptable (near the tube station).
I found the breakfast quite disappointing, there were limited options. basic items ran out. Rolls were not replaced. i did not expect this for the price i paid.

A Mixed Experience, Dated Features and Road Noise
road noise worn carpets
The location was convenient.
The room I was given was half renovated. There was a loud noise from the road due to a lack of insulation. It was hard to relax. I noticed cheap paint on the cheap wooden furniture. The worn carpets looked bad.
