The Stables offer 119m2 of space, a split-level design, a mezzanine master bedroom with a spa bath, and a second downstairs bedroom with en-suite bathrooms. Lodges provide 132m2 of single-level space with two bedrooms, two bathrooms, and access to communal grounds, the tennis court, and the swimming pool. Manors, at 162m2, feature views of the Richmond Ranges, two upstairs bedrooms, and a shared bathroom with a vineyard view. Three Bedroom Lodges offer 174m2, three bedrooms, two bathrooms, and views of the surrounding vines.
Local Dining
Many local vineyards have restaurants that emphasize food from local sources and wines to match. Allan Scott's Twelve Trees restaurant, named for the trees at its entrance, features gardens with fountains and a giant chessboard. The renovated establishment has vineyard views of the Richmond Range. Allan Scott's menu features flavors from around the world using local ingredients. There is also a grass area for kids.
Leisure Activities
Vintners Retreat provides a 12-meter solar-heated swimming pool, a tennis court, a petanque strip, and croquet sets on its four-acre grounds. Children's outdoor toys and a play-hut are also available. Guests can explore the area by boating, swimming, and kayaking. A trip to the Motuara Island Bird Sanctuary offers wildlife encounters. Cycling is possible in Wither Hills Farm Park.
Location and Access
Vintners Retreat is in the Wairau River valley of Renwick, Marlborough, a short walk from cellar doors and 10 km from Woodbourne. It is a short drive to Havelock, known for Green Lipped Mussels, and Picton and the Queen Charlotte Sound. Marlborough's Aviation Centre, with exhibits from WW1 including Sir Peter Jackson's collection, is nearby. Vintners Retreat is a 1.5-hour direct flight from Auckland, 40 minutes from Christchurch, and 20 minutes from Wellington.
