5-star luxury hotel near Kiyomizu Temple

Location

The Hotel Seiryu Kyoto Kiyomizu is strategically situated just a short walk from the UNESCO World Heritage site, Kiyomizu-dera Temple. Surrounded by historical landmarks such as Hokanji Temple and the picturesque streets of Ninenzaka, the hotel offers easy access to Kyoto's cultural treasures. This central location allows guests to explore the city's rich heritage conveniently.

Rooms

The hotel features 48 well-appointed guest rooms, including the expansive 137㎡ Panoramic Suite with stunning views of Kyoto's skyline and surrounding mountains. Each room is designed to blend traditional Kyoto aesthetics with contemporary comforts, ensuring a restful stay. Many rooms come with private terraces that overlook iconic sites like the Hokanji Temple and its famous pagoda.

Dining

Dining at The Hotel Seiryu Kyoto Kiyomizu includes a range of options, featuring cuisine that draws from local produce. Meals are served in a restored space that was once a school auditorium, offering a unique backdrop for dining experiences. The on-site restaurant provides both breakfast and dinner, while guests can enjoy light refreshments in the guest lounge throughout the day.

Wellness

The hotel offers private baths for guests to relax and rejuvenate after a day of exploring. Each private bath is available for a fee and accommodates up to four guests, providing an intimate setting for relaxation. The wellness experience extends into the surrounding area, where guests can engage in peaceful morning strolls among Kyoto's historic streets.

Exclusive Experiences

A highlight of The Hotel Seiryu Kyoto Kiyomizu is the special early-morning tour of Kiyomizu-dera Temple led by a monk. This unique experience includes access to areas not typically open to the public and insightful teachings about Buddhism. This tour elevates the stay, connecting guests to Kyoto's spiritual heritage in an authentic way.

Highlights

Location: Just a short walk from Kiyomizu-dera Temple

Rooms: 48 uniquely designed guest rooms

Dining: On-site restaurant in a restored auditorium

Wellness: Private baths available for relaxation

Exclusive: Early-morning monk-led tour at Kiyomizu-dera

“What strikes me most is the thoughtful combination of modern design within a setting so rich in Kyoto's cultural heritage, particularly its location in Gion, near Kiyomizu-dera Temple. I especially appreciate that every guest, as a standard, can access a guest lounge with complimentary offerings, which to me, is a touch of hospitality that elevates a stay from pleasant to memorable. It's a property that seems to genuinely understand the needs of travelers seeking both wellness and immersion in local traditions.”
