wonderful ryokan stay!
prime location lovely staff fresh flowers
the ryokan is in a prime location close to train and bus routes! it is in the middle of gion, but a nice quiet spot. the staff are lovely, and it's clear that a lot of effort is put in, for example, new flowers was in the room everyday!
the curfew at 11pm felt a bit restrictive!

the staff checked if i wanted to change my breakfast preferences each morning! they were very attentive and helpful with any requests i had!

i had the option of japanese or western fare for breakfast, brought to my room at my chosen time! they offered adjustments to the menu based on my dietary needs, which i thought was wonderful.

the location is perfect for exploring the area, and i visited arashiyama, inari shrine, and nara ! i found all locations easy to get to from this ryokan.

amazing ryokan experience!
lovely view japanese breakfast
i felt so welcomed. the staff took my bags before check-in! the room overlooked the central garden. i loved having traditional japanese breakfast every morning!

Authentic Experience with Attentive Staff
fresh flowers tea ceremony easy access
This ryokan offered a immersive experience. The staff went out of their way each day to ensure my stay was wonderful , offering fresh flowers in the room and tea with cookies upon arrival. They even provided a complimentary tea ceremony for staff training. The location proved convenient, with access to both the station and nearby dining and shopping options.
I noticed the bathroom could use some updating. The facilities felt a little dated , but it didn't drastically impact the overall experience.

the overall experience didn't quite meet our expectations. when we arrived, we were taken to our room and quickly served tea, a nice gesture but it felt a bit rushed. the staff tried their best, but none of them spoke english, so communication was difficult.

The Staff Was very polite. The japanese breakfast was a highlight, staff explained each dish served. A tour of the ryokan showed many interesting details. The location IS excellent, close to key landmarks in the district.
i noticed very minor upkeep Issues in common areas.

Staff offered prompt greetings at the Lobby. They made beds and replaced drinking water daily. Staff provides detailed explanations of japanese breakfast items. The staff IS helpful during the tea ceremony.

the staff greeted us warmly upon arrival. the facility was clean and also decorated to enhance our experience. they helped us with specific needs like earlier breakfast and a taxi for travel requirements.

An Authentic Ryokan Experience
excellent location delicious breakfast friendly staff moldy bathroom dated bathtub inadequate lighting
The location is great. It is a short walk to restaurants and attractions. Breakfast was delicious. The staff was friendly and accommodating.
The bathroom had some mold. The wooden bathtub seemed dated. The lighting was not ideal and did not enhance the authentic vibe.
