Rooms at The Landing
The Landing features thirteen guest rooms. The Attic is located on the third floor of The Captain's House, with windows on all sides. Buttonwood, on the second floor of the Library building, has a large verandah with views of the pool, garden, and harbour. Cocobey is a family room that sleeps four and has two external entrances with a large verandah. Frangipani, on the second floor of the Captain's House, has direct views of the harbour. Jacaranda is a stand-alone cottage with a private outside shower. Sea Sage is on the second floor of The Library building. Rooms feature mahogany four-poster beds with Ralph Lauren linens. Wireless internet is available. All rooms are non-smoking. Rooms are designed for a maximum of two people.
Dining at The Landing
The Landing's restaurant features a contemporary menu based on seafood, prepared by Chef Madelene Pedican. A carefully selected list of fine wines and digestifs from The Landing's Wine Cellar are available. "The Cellar" offers a collection of Cuban and Caribbean rums, and fine spirits. Breakfast is served from 8 AM to 10:45 AM (Sundays until 11:45 AM), and dinner is served from 6 PM to 8:30 PM (bar open 5:30 PM - 10 PM).
Island Activities
The Landing provides beach chairs and umbrellas for guest use on the pink sand beach. Snorkeling and scuba diving are available. Fishing is popular. Guests can visit the shops, boutiques, and art galleries that dot the island. Local dive shops offer dive instruction and certification. Guests can take a stroll through the town, visit a gallery, or attend Sunday worship at a local church.
Location & Transportation
The Landing is located in Dunmore Town, a five-minute walk to the beach. Harbour Island is accessible by air from Miami, Ft. Lauderdale, and Nassau, with daily direct flights to North Eleuthera Airport. Water taxis leave continuously for Dunmore Town, a 10-minute trip across the harbour. Bahamas Fast Ferries go directly from Nassau to Harbour Island.
Hotel Services
The library offers a quiet place to relax and read. Guests can sit back in Adirondack chairs on the wide verandah. There are no televisions or phones. The Landing is a historic property dating back to 1800. Seating is planned out in the best interest of safety. No more than two people are allowed in the front office at a time.
