Located just outside Inverurie, Thainstone House is near Aberdeen and its international airport. It is located on the A96, about 12 miles north of Aberdeen Airport. Inverurie railway station is a little over 1.5 miles away. Bus services No. 10 and 37 from Aberdeen and Inverness stop outside the hotel gates. Inverurie is known as the 'Heart of the Garioch' and is near castles and historical attractions. Nearby attractions include Castle Fraser (6 miles away), Glen Garioch and Ardmore Distilleries, and the Mither Tap Iron Age fort.
