Charming stay NEAR Baker Street

attentive staffsmooth check-inhigh food qualitycomplex payment
The staff was attentive. The room was quiet, ensuring a good night's sleep. I enjoyed the breakfast service, though it wasn't a buffet. The food quality was high. I especially liked the proximity to Baker Street station. It made getting around easy.
The payment system seemed complex. I noticed pre-authorization along with a deposit. The pre-authorization remained pending even after checkout. I believe this process needs streamlining to avoid confusion.
Rooms
8/10
The room included quality toiletries and a well-stocked minibar. The selection of hot drink materials was good. It allowed for convenient in-room refreshments. The space had some oversized furniture. The design felt slightly dated.

the breakfast food was great.
i arrived before check-in time to change for a wedding. the receptionist focused on upgrades rather than helping me. i was offered the toilets as a changing space. also, it took 20 minutes to get an iron after asking twice.

Acceptable Stay. Room for Improvement

bathroom groutoverpriced drinks
My stay had a few drawbacks. The bathroom tile grout showed its age, needing some attention. The lack of USB sockets in the room was also an inconvenience. It felt a bit outdated. Loud door banging from the kitchen area each morning disrupted my sleep. The staff tried to fix it with a cushion, though a proper fix is needed. Overpriced drinks at the cigar lounge disappointed me as well. The markups seemed excessive.

the breakfast a la carte was acceptable.
The room was very small. It needed a refit. the hotel took 50% of the total cost before arrival, a practice i did not appreciate. i would have preferred to use a different payment method at check-in.
