The Swan Hotel feels like a proper local institution with great food.”

Review summary
Based on recent reviews
Powered by AI
Guests often appreciate the Swan Hotel's location, especially when visiting for walks along the Severn Way, as it offers a perfect spot for exploring. The rooms are frequently described as spacious and comfortable, some even boasting river views. The easy access to the M5 and M50 makes it a convenient stopover, though parking directly next to the hotel can be limited. While many enjoy the modern design and cleanliness, some guests have noted that the stairs and corridors can be narrow and winding.

underwhelming stay

missing coat hooks basic breakfast
the location near the river seemed acceptable I guess I did find some parking nearby.
The room lacked coat hooks in both the main area and the bathroom that's something I noticed immediately the breakfast was basic. No fruit or yogurt were available. plus despite supposedly being dog friendly my furry friend wasn't allowed in the breakfast room.

acceptable stay

comfortable bedroom riverside location nice bar late breakfast hot room little ventilation
The location of this hotel IS excellent, right by the river. The bedroom was comfortable. I found the bar and lounge nice. The bed felt newly decorated throughout the hotel.
The breakfast service didn't start until nine AM. THE room was very hot. I feel there was little ventilation in the room.

unhappy bartender long wait
the room faced the river, and that was acceptable.
I wasn't happy with the bar service. the bartender seemed unhappy, and a waiter directed me to get my own cutlery. that is really bad service. My expectations were higher. also, the food, while tasty, took a long time to arrive.

Excellent stay by the river

delicious breakfast friendly staff comfortable bed
The breakfast was delicious. I enjoyed the variety of options available each morning. The staff was very friendly and helpful. They quickly addressed all my questions. The room had a nice river view and the bed was very comfortable.
The free on street parking was very limited. I had to park a short distance away.
