The restaurant menu includes air-dried beef henkele, East Tyrolean alpine cheese soup, Schlipfkrapfen, lamb shank in rosemary juice, and curd cheese dumplings. Daily changing three- to five-course menus offer light interpretations of Tyrolean cuisine, with options such as venison medallions with juniper sauce or trout filled with herbs. Half-board guests can select from salmon trout fillet, pork chop with roasted potatoes, or egg mushrooms with duck breast. The hotel serves a healthy Osttirol breakfast with homemade jams, Strasserwirt muesli, Birchermüsli, cakes, fresh juices, Farmer breads, butter, cheese, and honeycomb, plus mountain farm products from Rieplerhof like ginger lemon yogurt and curd balls.
Activities and Surroundings
Strasserwirt is near the Drau cycle path (100 meters), one of Austria's most scenic trails, heading towards Lienz. The valleys of Villgraten and Defereggen, along with the villages of Matrei and Kals in the National Park Region Hohe Tauern, are popular for anglers. Golfers can visit Lavant near Lienz. The region has art and culture treasures left by Celtic tribes, Romans, Baiuvarii, and Gorizians.
