Scandic Grand Central has 391 rooms. Rooms include ironing facilities, heating, tea and coffee facilities, a mini-bar, a sitting area, a dining table, an electric kettle, an AM/FM alarm clock, a flat-screen TV, and parquet floors. Compact rooms offer a flat-screen TV and desk, some with city views, but some are without windows. Spacious rooms have a sofa bed and coffee/tea making facilities. Some feature a balcony with city or courtyard views. Extra beds are not possible.
Dining choices
Teaterbrasseriet, the in-house restaurant, serves classic Swedish dishes made from fresh, seasonal produce. Decorated in a brasserie style, the restaurant has large windows facing Vasagatan. The hotel has two bar/lounges and a cafe that serves coffee and treats. Bar Acoustic offers creative cocktails and DJ evenings. Upstairs from the Restaurant is a cocktail bar with live music playing in a jazzy style lounge. The Bistro area, on the far side of the lobby from the entrance, has the feel of a vintage cabaret club with exposed bulbs and banquettes and regularly holds live music.
Leisure and Entertainment
Scandic Grand Central features a fitness room and sauna. Vasa Theatre, next door to the hotel, can accommodate up to 800 standing or 470 seated participants and hosts various events. The hotel lobby is a popular hang-out spot with both guests and locals. There is also mini shop and a kid's playroom.
Location and Transport
Located in Norrmalm, Stockholm's city center, Scandic Grand Central is near mainstream Swedish fashion and design shops on Drottninggatan and surrounding streets. Gamla Stan, Stockholm's original city center, is 10 minutes away on the metro. The hotel is 150 meters from the Arlanda Express Airport Train and Stockholm Central Station, only five minutes from the Arlanda Express train station, which has connections to nearly everywhere in Stockholm. Scandic Grand Central is across the street from the Oscarsteatern, one of the most well-known musical theaters in Stockholm.
