Hotel San Francesco al Monte provides rooms inside a converted 16th-century monastery. Classic Sea View rooms, formerly monks' cells, include views of the Gulf of Naples from convent windows. Superior Sea View rooms accommodate three people and include air conditioning. Junior Suites offer space for three people plus one child. Only four classic rooms feature private terraces overlooking the Gulf of Naples, equipped with a table, chairs, and sun loungers. Neapolitan and Mediterranean cuisine
The Terrazza dei Barbanti restaurant, located on the fourth floor, features a terrace with city, port area, and Mount Vesuvius views, and serves Neapolitan and Mediterranean dishes, such as calamari stuffed with ricotta, pasta with baby octopus and smoked tomatoes, and pork fillet in red wine sauce. A buffet breakfast is served all year and features bread, cakes, fresh pastries, bacon, and scrambled eggs. From May 15th to September 30th, the roof garden offers a pool with bar and lunch service. There are also two bars, one located by the seasonal pool, and a restaurant. The Pool bar and restaurant 'Il Vigneto' is located on the seventh floor and offers views from Capodimonte to Capri through domes churches.
Rooftop and Wellness
The seventh floor features a lush garden with views stretching from Capodimonte to Capri. Guests can access a ground-level swimming pool and a hot-water pool carved into the rock. From May to September, a panoramic swimming pool is open. The exclusive wellness area, Ancient Essence, offers sensory journeys. Bocca della Selva and Campitello Matese provide sports centers for winter and summer activities.
Location near historical sites
Located in a converted 16th-century monastery on a hillside above the historical city center, San Francesco al Monte is 0.5 km from Toledo and Montesanto, and 10 km from Capodichino Airport. The Monsanto funicular links Piazzeta Monsanto to Castel Sant'Elmo and the Certosa di San Martino, stopping about 400 m from the hotel. The central funicular station on Corso Vittorio Emmanuele is about 300m from the hotel. ANM bus C16 stops right outside the hotel and can be caught at Mergellina station on Line 2, running between the central train station and Fuorigrotta. The hotel is about 4 km from Mergellina station and 7 km from the Piazza Garibaldi train station. Points of interest include Mount Vesuvius and Vesuvius National Park, Pompei and Ercolano, and the National Archaeological Museum.
