Rooms and Suites
The Hotel Riu Sri Lanka has 500 rooms with bathroom including shower, a balcony or terrace, air conditioning, Wi-Fi, cable/satellite TV, safe, telephone, kettle, minibar and hairdryer. Guests can request baby cots. Certain rooms include a seating area. The 30 two-bedroom family suites also have built-in tubs. Twenty standard junior suites are adapted for wheelchair users.
Dining Options
The main restaurant is open all day for breakfast, lunch and dinner and features international buffets. All meals and mealtime drinks, such as soft drinks, beer, wine, water and alcoholic drinks of local brands, are available. The hotel offers Italian and Asian dishes, as well as local Sri Lankan cuisine. Four bars serve beverages and snacks at all hours.
Leisure and Entertainment
The resort features three swimming pools with rows of white plastic sun beds. There is a fenced children's water play area and a kids' club. Additional facilities include a small gym, and a spa with complimentary hydrotherapy area. The animation team puts on live shows. Guests can use the Vision karaoke nightclub. These outlets are only open when the hotel is running at full occupancy.
Location and Transport
Hotel Riu Sri Lanka is located south of Sri Lanka in the district of Galle, directly on Ahungalla beach, a one-and-a-half-mile-long beach on Ahungalla's west coast. Swimming in the sea is limited to a few months of the year. Turtles lay eggs on nearby Kosgoda Beach. Colombo and Galle can be reached directly by rail. Riu Sri Lanka All Inclusive is 20 km from Bentota River Seaplane Base. The nearest airport is Colombo Int'l Airport. Guests should expect to be approached by three-wheeler drivers offering local tours.
