Highlights

Location: one of the most beautiful canals of Amsterdam

Accommodation: Budget single room

Family-Friendly Amenities: Children's Playground

Dining: Hotel Bar

“The Rembrandtplein Hotel, housed in what I gather is a late 17th-century canal house, has an immediate draw with its location on the Groenburgwal. While some report additional fees and dated decor, I noted that its proximity to the Muntplein and Cafe de Jaren, coupled with canal views, presents a solid base for exploring Amsterdam; I consider it a fine base from which to explore the city.”

The Rembrandtplein Hotel is appreciated for its excellent location, making it easy to explore Amsterdam's city center and major landmarks, with both Rembrandtplein square and the Central Station within walking distance. Many guests find the rooms more spacious than other Dutch hotels, with comfortable beds and, in some rooms, awesome canal views at night. While some have noted the property could benefit from refurbishment, it remains a practical choice, particularly for active sightseers looking for good value.

narrow staircase room dust
I found the lack of an elevator problematic. traversing the narrow staircases with luggage was quite a task each day. also, my room lacked soundproofing. I could clearly hear conversations and other noises from adjacent rooms. it was disruptive, especially during late hours. the room was dusty!
