Dining at The Plough
The hotel offers a restaurant serving an a-la-carte menu. The beautiful restaurant serves fresh food from various Northumberland Estates, most of which comes from the Duke of Northumberland's estates, like game pie, sirloin steak, and homemade burgers. Robust, country-pub food with emphasis on fish and meat is served. A fish board, including kipper pate, potted crab, and smoked salmon, is a favorite. Guests can create their own Sharing Board with Potato Skins and Salad. Roasts include Pigs in Blanket, Cauliflower Cheese, Roast Potatoes, Red Cabbage, Two Yorkshire Puddings, or Mashed Potatoes. An open staircase leads from the bar to the airy dining-room.
Bar and Gin Selections
Guests can quench their thirst in the fully equipped, welcoming bar area that fuses modern and traditional styles. The bar offers a refreshing gin from an extensive handpicked selection of 40 different varieties. There are a couple of real ales and an interesting gin menu.

Hotel Style
The Plough has been part of Alnwick for visitors and locals alike. It's a beautiful coaching inn with a history dating back to 1896. The interior is a cross between a hunting lodge and a gentleman's club, featuring battered Chesterfields and plaid-upholstered high-stools and armchairs, teal-blue and grey walls, and dark-wood floors. Artfully arranged collections of old books and clocks give a relaxed, clubby vibe. Dining in The Plough is an authentic experience, and whether you're popping in to experience the menu, enjoying the extensive gin selection, or staying the night, you'll be sure to remember your time.
