Rooms & "Al Vadret"
Hotel Morteratsch has 30 rooms in the main building and the "Al Vadret" annex. Rooms in the main building provide views of the glacier world (Bellavista category) or the forest (Montebello category). Double and four-bed rooms feature a shower/toilet, as well as Swiss stone pine interiors. Rooms do not have telephones or televisions. Instead, guests can enjoy the stream and an "outdoor-screen". Guests can request bright rooms with wooden furniture, a double bed, and a bathroom with a shower and a hairdryer. Large rooms offer views of the Bernina massif.
Dining: Local Cuisine
The Morteratsch restaurant offers fresh, local cuisine. The head chef, Guido Varriale, uses ingredients from regional suppliers, such as Zanetti butcher shop in Poschiavo. Guests can enjoy coffee from Cafe Badilatti in Zuoz. The restaurant has Stuva Chünetta that serves coffee and tuorta da nusch fat in chesa. Stuva Bellavista, offers views of the Bellavista mountain, and is open for dinner from 6 p.m. Sela Cambrena serves breakfast and can accommodate up to 70 people for events. An alpine brunch is available Tuesday to Sunday from 9:30 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. A terrace provides views of the glaciated mountains. The hotel also provides nut cake and voucher.
Leisure and Activities
Hotel Morteratsch provides access to Engadin mountain trails and single trails for biking. Guests can start hikes from the hotel, including the Morteratsch Glacier Trail, with 16 stops detailing the glacier's retreat. Climbing is available at Via ferratas La Resgia and Piz Trovat, the high ropes course near Pontresina, and the 17 climbing gardens in Engadin St Moritz. Guests can start snowshoe tours at the bridge in Celerina. Carriage or sleigh rides are available through Val Roseg. A climbing garden and bike trails are near the hotel. Guests can experience cheese production at the Alp-Morteratsch show dairy from mid-June to early October.
