Monmouth Historic Inn & Gardens, a National Historic Landmark built in 1818, provides rooms in the main house and seven outbuildings. Options include Quitman's Retreat, the Carriage House, Pond Cottage, and Garden Cottages. Rooms feature period furnishings or antebellum-era reproductions, and private baths. Some suites include a spa tub and a fireplace. Specific rooms include the Calhoun Room 21, named after John C. Calhoun, located on the second floor of the Main House; the Clay Room 24, named for Henry Clay. The Courtyard Building, Garden Cottages, Pond Cottage and Quitman's Retreat offer Deluxe Rooms decorated with antiques and reproduction furnishings. Garden Cottages consist of 2 cottages next to each other, each cottage having two guest rooms with private baths and porches across the front.
Culinary Freedom
Restaurant 1818 provides Southern cuisine with a contemporary twist, featuring menu items on an a la carte basis. Options range from gourmet appetizers to desserts. The restaurant uses local and fresh ingredients. A full wine list is available. Before dining, guests can gather for drinks in the Quitman Lounge & Study. Breakfast is available as In-Room Dining from 7 am-10 am for $14 per person. A complimentary Southern breakfast is served in the Garden Room from 7 am - 10 am. In-Room Dining is available daily from 5:30 pm until 9 pm.
Leisure Activities
Guests can stroll around the landscaped gardens, including the Rose Gardens, featuring hybrid roses, and the fishing pond. The property has a croquet court with equipment provided. Birding is a popular activity, with binoculars available on loan. The hotel can arrange special outings. There is a Tesla Charging Station.

Monmouth Historic Inn & Gardens is located five minutes east of Natchez's historic business district, near antique shops and the Mississippi River. The hotel sits atop Natchez's second highest hill. It is 90 miles from Baton Rouge, LA (BTR), 100 miles south of Jackson, MS (JAN), 90 miles east of Alexandria, LA (AEX), and 160 miles north of New Orleans, LA (MSY).
