Magma Hotel: Overview

Magma Hotel is located near Kirkjubæjarklaustur in south Iceland. It is near a lake and the Eldhraun lava field. The lake is rich with birdlife. The hotel is also a location to see the aurora borealis. It is named after the 1783 Lakagígar eruption that created the lava field.

Rooms

Magma Hotel features 25 rooms: standard, deluxe, and family rooms. Standard rooms (27m2 / 290ft2) have double or twin beds. Deluxe rooms are spacious. Family rooms (34m2 / 365ft2) accommodate 4-5 people, with one king bed and one single bed. All rooms include a private patio, free high-speed wireless internet, and en-suite bathrooms with a toilet and shower. Deluxe rooms include a 55' flat-screen TV with access to NETFLIX. Bistro 1783 offers views of Vatnajökull. The bistro provides quality coffee and tea throughout the day, books, magazines, and board games. Couples can enjoy dinner and drinks over candlelight. Home-style dinners feature fresh local ingredients, healthy options, and Icelandic dishes. Menu items include Icelandic Smoked Char (2.700,-), Lobster soup (4.650,-), Beef Ribeye steak (6.950,-), Icelandic Arctic Char (5.450,-), Icelandic Lamb Ribeye (KR. 6.650,-), and Grilled Eggplant (VEG).
