wonderful pools and great volcano views

beautiful hotel volcano view quick shuttle

the hotel is beautiful with many different pools at varying temperatures. the swim-up bar was a fun experience with affordable drinks (i loved the cocktails!). the view of the volcano was indeed amazing. the shuttle service around the resort was quick and convenient, and the drivers were nice.

the hotel's location is quite convenient, a short drive from town, placing it at the foot of the majestic volcano. the thermal pools are fine and never felt overcrowded, even when day visitors were present (i appreciated that).

the food was delicious, and the breakfast had many options, including local and international foods. the pool restaurant had yummy food, and the 'chifrijo' in the main bar in the evening was great (especially with a cold beer!).

adequate stay, some disappointments

unreliable shuttle service child behaviour

the breakfast buffet was acceptable, i guess.

Our room was far from the main facilities. A 15-minute uphill walk was required. the shuttle service was unreliable and inconsistent, often passing us by. i saw children running around unsupervised near the pools and hot springs. A child even relieved himself on the lawn, right in front of us!!!

nice view costa rican park

the volcano was right there, a very nice view. i drove to the lookout and also found a road leading to a lake and a park (a costa rican park!).

The cold swimming pool seemed not very clean. A few things were floating around, including hair.

i stayed with my family (three kids). different pools entertained them and the hot springs were a treat during cooler evenings. our room was spacious and conveniently near the pools plus the restaurant. breakfast was delicious (especially the fresh fruit) and made mornings special.

the staff member at check-in was a bit rude when i mentioned we were a family of five. although eventually resolved with an extra charge, the initial interaction was unwelcoming.

the hotel offers multiple pools with varying temperatures to suit preferences and hot springs ensure relaxation. a zipline is onsite adding some excitement and walkways provide access to garden views plus the volcano viewing point.

the front desk staff is cute and helpful addressing any questions. frequent shuttles are running within the resort making transport easier (specially if you are far from the reception). spa services are available and reported as wonderful.

the location is close to many attractions and it offers beautiful landscape. rooms have volcano views offering amazing scenery. driving up to the viewpoint is recommended for panoramic views of the surrounding areas.

inconsistent shuttle unsupervised kids

i was pretty excited about my stay but some things were a letdown. the shuttle service was surprisingly inconsistent. i sometimes waited a long time and watched shuttles pass me. also there were kids running around with little supervision and they splashed everyone in the hot springs and nobody seemed to care

amazing hot springs and volcano views!

The resort had many things to do, i enjoyed the hot springs and looked for wildlife. the pools were fun. mario at the stable was very friendly and gave us lots of information about the horses! the lookout was great. I spotted a sloth and a toucan.

The reception staff was not very helpful. I requested a room with a volcano view but was told it was not possible. i also asked for a discount on multiple massages, but they said no, which reminded me of a missed opportunity for them.
