Lakeland Resort Taupo has 64 studio units, each with a 42-inch plasma flatscreen TV with limited satellite channels. The Lakeland Bar & Brasserie features a bar/lounge and serves locally brewed craft beer and award-winning wines. Group lunches are available by request for parties over eight. Private functions can be accommodated.

The resort has a tennis court with rackets and balls. A seasonal outdoor swimming pool is available. Guests can access natural hot water on the lake edge opposite the resort. A Taupo sailing trip is available on the 1920s yacht, Barbary. Fly fishing is available with Chris Jolly Outdoors' guides. Other activities in the Taupo area include sky diving and thermal pools. The Taupo DeBretts Hot Springs, Huka Falls and Craters of the Moon are nearby.
