I found the large rooms had huge windows offering lovely views of the lake. i liked that the hotel provides access to bikes, kayaks, and hot tubs, though the weather kept me from using them. the breakfast buffet offered a decent selection. I'd recommend labels on everything though.
The outdated room i was initially given had a bad smell, and the hot water reeked of sulfur. I had to request a room change.

the spacious rooms were clean and equipped with an extra heater, ensuring i was very comfortable. i found the room well kept. it had a large window offering a fine lake view, very relaxing. the showers are fully stocked too!!!

My experience was not satisfactory. the hot water emitted a strong, unpleasant odor similar to eggs. Staff attributed this to geothermal activity, but it was unique compared to other icelandic hotels i visited. the junior suite was worn, and the fireplace, though highlighted, was merely decorative. loud music disrupted the peace during the mornings, due to dancing classes beneath the room.

The breakfast buffet offered many choices, and staff replenished items regularly. the room was super clean, including linens and towels. i found parking easy with my rental car. It was convenient.
the room lighting felt too dim. it made visibility challenging. cushion inserts smelled unpleasant. the smell was noticeable. i think they need more frequent washing. the hotel charged another guest's bill to my account.
