About the Hotel
Rooms at Green Island
Green Island Resort provides Island Suites (56 square meters) with a king-sized bed or two double beds, a bathroom with a separate bath and shower, a balcony, and air conditioning. Reef Suites (66 square meters) feature a split-level layout, king-sized bed, separate bath and shower, and a private balcony. Connecting rooms are available for families. Both Island Suites and Reef Suites include a return catamaran transfer to Cairns, sunset drinks, glass-bottom boat tour, and water activities like snorkeling and kayaking. Each piece of luggage can only be a maximum of 23kg.
Dining options
Emeralds Restaurant features local tropical produce, with dining on the outdoor terrace or in the air-conditioned dining room. Emeralds is open for breakfast from 7:30 AM to 9:30 AM, lunch from 11:30 AM to 2:30 PM, and dinner from 5:30 PM. The Canopy Grill offers casual a-la-carte lunches from 10:00 AM to 3:00 PM. Reflections Pool Bar serves drinks, cocktails, and snacks by the main pool from 10:00 AM to 4:00 PM; al fresco dining is available on Friday and Saturday nights. Little Bites café offers coffee and snacks from 9:30 AM to 4:00 PM. Beach dining and picnics are available upon request.
Leisure and Activities
Green Island Resort provides complimentary activities, including snorkeling, glass-bottom boat tours, fish feeding presentations, and guided island walks. Non-motorized beach equipment such as kayaks and windsurfing boards are available. Guests can access the private resort pool. Marineland Melanesia, located on Green Island, features a crocodile habitat. The island is known for amateur astronomy due to its distance from city lights.
Location and Transportation
Green Island Resort is 27 km (45 minutes by boat) from Cairns. The check-in counter is located at the Cairns Reef Fleet Terminal, 1 Spence Street, next to the Shangri-La Hotel at the Pier Marketplace. Coach transfers to the terminal are available from hotels and resorts in Cairns and the Northern Beaches. The island includes disabled toilet facilities and paved or wooden boardwalks for wheelchair access. Day visitors are on the island from approximately 9:30 AM to 4:00 PM daily.

Exclusive 'back-of house' tours of the Resort are available to showcase sustainable management. The resort includes a state-of-the-art tertiary sewage treatment plant. Water fountains for drink container refill are available. Departure check-out time is 10:00 AM.
