Grand Hotel Lapland offers a variety of accommodations. Moderate Single Rooms (20 square meters) feature a 160 cm double bed, TV, desk with chair, mirror, and armchair. These rooms do not have windows. Standard Single Rooms (18 square meters) in the older part of the hotel include a 140 cm wide bed and a sofa bed. Deluxe Single Rooms are furnished with a 140 cm wide bed. Superior Single Rooms (20 square meters) have a 140 cm bed, TV, desk with chair, and armchair. Standard Double Rooms in the older section contain two 90 cm wide single beds and a sofa bed. Deluxe Double Rooms (24 square meters), recently renovated, are equipped with either a wide double bed or two single beds, TV, desk with chair, armchair, mirror, and wardrobe. Superior Double Rooms (26 square meters), also newly renovated, feature two 90 cm wide beds, TV, desk with chair, armchair, mirror, and wardrobe. Newly built suites include two 140 cm beds, bathrobes, slippers, TV, desk, chair, mirror, and armchairs.
Dining options
The hotel features Vassara Steakhouse and a Sports bar. The Steakhouse serves charcoal roasted meat courses, mostly local meat from farms around Norrbotten, collaborating with Karlgrens slaughterhouse in Gällivare. The restaurant is open Monday to Saturday, 17:30 - 22:30 (kitchen closes at 21:30). The Sports bar offers a menu of burgers and beers. A breakfast buffet is available on floor 2, Monday to Friday 6:00-9:00 and Saturday/Sunday 7:00-10:00 (159 SEK for external guests). The café is open from morning until 23:00, offering pastries, salads, pies, and sandwiches, with takeaway available.
Leisure and wellness
Guests have access to recreational facilities including a spa tub, sauna, and fitness center. The gym (300 square meters) features Salter workout machines and Eleiko free weights (150 SEK per visit, monthly/half-year/full-year memberships available; free for hotel guests). The Melt SPA on the 5th floor provides massage, body treatments, facial waxing, and lash/brow treatments. There are multiple saunas: Utsikten (wood-fired, with views), Gruvan (disabled-accessible), and Instikten, each with a relax area, tables, chairs, TV, and showers. In summer, an outdoor rooftop swimming pool with a hot tub is accessible to hotel guests, café, Steakhouse, gym and pool guests.
Location and activities
Grand Hotel Lapland is located in central Gällivare, 10 km from Gallivare Lappland. The hotel is close to northern nature and various activities. Dundret ski resort is five kilometers away, offering nine slopes and ten kilometers of cross-country ski trails. Hellner Stadium, with cross-country tracks, is located below the hill. Dundret is suitable for hiking, with views of Sarek and Kebnekaise. Gällivare offers about six miles of ski trails, many electrically lit. Each April, the 'Dundret Runt' ski race takes place. Activities like dog sledding, snowmobile safaris, and hiking tours can be arranged. The municipality trail surrounds Gällivare and Malmberget, accessible near the hotel.
