food quality quick service
The dinner menu had limited options. The food quality was very high. The bar had a very good atmosphere. I liked it. The staff was excellent. Their service was quick throughout my stay.
The stairs were a little difficult. The building's age presented some challenges. I found the shower a little formidable!

excellent surprise!

lovely people large bathroom
the staff were some of the loveliest people i've ever met working in hospitality! the bedroom was a good size. it was very large and the bathroom was lovely too.
being grade 1 listed, this comes with challenges. very warm room which was near the kitchen and which gave off stale cooking smell, probably from the noisy extractor fan. the fan did stop at around 9.20pm. other rooms may not have been subject to the smell or noise. we felt it could be a lot cleaner.

Wonderful Stay with Excellent Service

amazing staff spacious room super clean cleanliness high standard
I found the staff to be amazing. Everyone. The room I stayed in was spacious and spotlessly clean. I was very pleased with the level of care taken to maintain such a high standard of cleanliness.
The coffee and tea facilities were located in the corridor. I found this slightly inconvenient for making drinks in my room.
Dining

The breakfast included fresh local ingredients and the food was cooked very well. I especially enjoyed the pie I had one evening at the restaurant. The portions were generous too.
Facilities

Free parking was available. I had no trouble finding a space. The hotel also provides free WiFi and this worked without issues . The bar offered a variety of local ales.
Rooms

stale cooking smell noisy extractor fan
The location was convenient. The on-site parking was a plus, though the entrance could use better signage.
The room was quite warm and close to the kitchen, so I got a stale cooking smell. A noisy extractor fan probably caused it, though it did stop around 9:20 pm. I thought the place could have been cleaner. Some areas felt overlooked.
