The Elite Athlete Centre and Hotel features 44 twin en-suite bedrooms, designed with athletes in mind. This includes 20 altitude rooms that allow guests to simulate sleeping at altitudes from sea level up to 5,000m. Standard rooms feature 7ft twin beds, while accessible rooms have 6ft twin beds. All bedrooms meet accessibility requirements, with eight rooms fully DDA compliant and interconnecting. Amenities include a 42" flat-screen TV, a fridge, luxury toiletries, and a 1Gbps Wi-Fi network. Open wardrobes and storage areas accommodate large sports equipment.
Dining: The Kitchen
The hotel features 'The Kitchen', a high-performance restaurant that provides flexible performance nutrition. Menus are designed by Imago Venues chefs and expert nutritionists from the English Institute of Sport. The kitchen area is designed for show cooking, allowing athletes to see the ingredients and techniques used. The food is divided into sections: FUEL, REPAIR, SUPPORT & PROTECT. The menus focus on high-iron foods and ensure appropriate energy and nutrients. The Kitchen can seat up to 38 guests, with an additional 32 covers in the seminar area.
Leisure and Sport Facilities
Guests have access to world-class sports training facilities, equipment, and support resources at Loughborough University. This includes one of the country's largest strength and conditioning gyms, a performance laboratory, a sports medicine and physiotherapy clinic, and an Athlete's Lounge. The fitness suite offers the latest Technogym Artis range, with over 75 cardio machines and over 70 resistance machines. There is also a high-performance badminton training venue, the Paula Radcliffe Athletics Track, and a facility for covered outdoor throws training.
Location and Transportation
The Elite Athlete Centre and Hotel is located on the Loughborough University campus, near Holywell Sports Complex and SportPark. It is 15 km from East Midlands Airport. Loughborough mainline station is 3 miles away, with regular intercity services from London St Pancras. The University shuttle bus runs between the University and Loughborough's train station every 10 minutes during term time and 20 minutes out of term time. The postcode LE11 3TU reaches the main entrance to Loughborough University (Epinal Way).
