Elephant House has rooms in the Main House and Stable Cottages. The Main House features eight en-suite bedrooms with courtyards and private verandahs; family units are available. Family Rooms include inter-leading sections with two or three single beds, en-suite bathrooms with baths and showers, and private verandahs. The Stable Cottages include six Cape-style cottages on five acres with indigenous trees and aloes. Two cottages are family units, all have verandahs, and share a swimming pool. Standard cottages feature country-style bedrooms, en-suite bathrooms, and private verandahs with dining tables and soft seating. Family cottages have main bedrooms and inter-leading sections with two single beds, plus en-suite bathrooms and private verandahs. Amenities include king or twin beds, extra length beds, two single beds, en-suite bathroom with shower, air conditioning, heating, premium bedding, free Wi-Fi, hairdryer, bathrobes, toiletries, in-room safe, minibar, tea/coffee facilities, a desk, a patio, garden views and a private bathroom. Some include a chandelier, a private veranda or a four-poster bed with canopies.

Dining: Farm to Table

The on-site restaurant serves country cuisine with Cape wines. Traditional farm breakfasts are served until 10:30 AM. Light lunches are prepared by the chef and served on the terrace or poolside. Cheese and cold meat platters are available if ordered before 4:30 PM. The Stable Cottages feature cooking facilities and braai areas. Nearby restaurants include Africanos, Molo Lolo, Tangelos at African Wildlife and River Front Restaurant.

Leisure and Entertainment

Elephant House offers activities such as safaris, cultural encounters, and leisure options. Guests can take game drives in Addo Elephant National Park with an in-house field guide in an open Land Rover; morning drives run from 08:30 to 12:30 and afternoon drives from 14:00 to 17:30 (R1950 pp, including park entry, drinks, and snacks). Self-drive options in Addo are available. Schotia 'tooth and claw' safaris are a 40-minute drive away, commencing at 15:00 and ending around 19:00, followed by a cooked meal (R2500 pp, including dinner and drinks, with return transfers for R750 pp). Other nearby activities include: quad biking, horse trails, the Valley tour, zip-lining, Bellevue Reserve giraffe walks, and visits to Kirkwood, St Francis Links, Royal Port Alfred and The Belmont golf courses. There are two swimming pools.

Location and Transportation

Elephant House is eight kilometers from the main entrance to Addo Elephant National Park and less than an hour from Port Elizabeth, in the Sundays River Valley. From Port Elizabeth International Airport (65 km / 50 min drive via the N2), head towards the sea, get onto Settlers Way (M4) which becomes the N2 North towards Grahamstown. Drive straight through Addo village in the direction of Addo Elephant National Park. The hotel is 5 km after Addo village on the left. Road transfers from Port Elizabeth Airport can be arranged. The hotel is near landmarks like Addo Raptor and Reptile Centre (4 km), Hapoor Drinking Hole Lookout (4.5 km), and Addo Wildlife & Lifestyle Centre (2 km).
