East Claremont Guest House is often praised for its convenient location, with a manageable walk to Edinburgh's city center and close proximity to Broughton Street's shops and the St James Quarter. Guests consistently enjoy the good-sized rooms and the cooked-to-order Scottish breakfast served in the basement kitchen. convenient locationfresh breakfastcustomizable breakfastearly bag drop-off
i found the location quite convenient. it was a manageable walk to the city center, i think around 15 minutes. the fresh breakfast each morning was a treat, i especially liked the option to customize it. i appreciated that they allowed me to drop off my bags early before check-in, it was very helpful.
i noticed some minor wear and tear, like some peeling wallpaper.

cooked breakfastfriendly host
The building sits a short walk from the bus station. I found the room to be a good size.. The cooked breakfast was great. Tommy, the host, proved friendly and obliging.
The shower was nice but the bathroom looked like it belonged in a camping trailer.

the room was beautiful and spacious. breakfast included a freshly cooked scottish breakfast which was great. the location was a reasonable walk from waverley station (i think it was about 20 minutes).
my room was right next to the entrance and quite noisy. the bathroom was very small and the materials seemed low quality. i stayed for four nights and the room was not cleaned once (no fresh towels either).

the location allowed easy walks to major attractions. the host, tom, showed himself a delight. breakfast provided vegan options and extra items without request.
The staircase had too many decorations near the bottom. This made it difficult to navigate with luggage due to poor knees

cramped breakfast roomweak shower
The breakfast room felt quite cramped. too many tables were crammed into a small area. also, the shower in my room wasn't great. It needed updating and the pressure was really weak. it made showering a bit of a chore, not very relaxing after a long day.
