The family-run Bridge House is located just off the A40 on the main road into Ross, a 10-minute stroll from Ross-on-Wye centre. The eight big rooms include coffee and tea making facilities, complimentary toiletries, freeview widescreen television and free wifi. Rooms offer a choice of king-size or super king-size beds (which can be configured as twins), along with Hypnos mattresses, goose-down duvets and pillows, and Egyptian cotton bed linen. Some rooms feature four-poster beds and freestanding baths. Bathrooms come with luxury toiletries and thick towels, offering freestanding baths or walk-in showers. Room 1 features a four poster king sized bed, views of the River Wye, and a bathroom with a roll top bath. Room 2 includes a king size sleigh bed, a seating area, and a rain shower. Room 3, a classic double room, faces the front of the hotel with a king size bed and an overhead power shower. Room 4, one of the largest rooms, includes a king size four poster bed, oversized armchairs, and a rain shower. Room 5 provides views across the garden to the River Wye and Wilton Castle, a king size bed, and an overhead rain shower. Room 6 offers views over the river to Ross and Wilton Castle, a super king size bed (or twin bed), and a roll top bath. Room 7 features a super-king or twin beds, en-suite bath and shower and can be adjoined with Rooms 8 and 9 to create a family suite. Classic double rooms feature a bathroom with an overhead power shower. Wood and stone floors complement Farrow & Ball walls. Guests may note the classic double room looks onto the front of the hotel which is south facing. Two new rooms on the top floor also have their own central lounge area.
Dining at Bridge House
Guests enjoy breakfast in the breakfast room, with views from the terrace. The Bridge House has a well stocked Honesty Bar with a range of wines, spirits and beers in the guests lounge or garden. Simple cold platters and soups are available. The dining room is located on the ground floor and offers views across the river. A full English breakfast uses fresh local produce.
Leisure and Activities
The Bridge House has a launch site for hot air ballooning, that takes you over Wilton Castle. Guests can access the river walks from the garden. The Wye Valley and Forest of Dean offer fishing on the River Wye and still water ponds and lakes. The middle reaches of the River Wye offer coarse fishing for chub, barbel, carp, bream, roach, dace, bleak and pike. Canoeing is available through landmarks such as Symonds Yat and Monmouth. Cycling routes are available, and the Forest of Dean has over a hundred miles of cycle tracks. The Peregrine Path follows the river from Monmouth to Symonds Yat. Mountain biking trails are available in the Wye Valley. Maps and walking routes are supplied. A huge grassed area is available to run around at the back.

The Bridge House is located in the market town of Ross-on-Wye, just off the A40 on the main road into Ross. It is 40 km from Gloucestershire. Ross-on-Wye centre is a 10 minute walk. London is 2 hours 30 minutes away by car, and Birmingham, Cardiff and Bristol are within 1 hours drive. Hereford, Gloucester, Monmouth and Malvern are within 30 minutes drive. Landmarks nearby include Made in Ross (1.5 km), St Mary The Virgin Church (1 km), Wyefit (1.5 km), The Parish Church of St Lawrence (4.5 km), The Thomas Blake Memorial Gardens (0.5 km), Wilton Castle (0.3 km), Goodrich Castle (4.5 km), and Parkfields Gallery (1 km). The Wye Valley Walk runs for 136 miles from Plynlimon in mid Wales to Chepstow in Monmouthshire.
