the room seemed a bit tired. decor updates are overdue and i noticed a door detached from the dressing table (not ideal). the towels provided were smaller and older than i'd expect in a place with this reputation.

the staff was helpful and knew the area well, even suggesting walks. our room had a very comfortable bed! the bar food was excellent, especially the pizzas. cooked breakfasts were also nice.

the parking area was somewhat tight!

i enjoyed the sunday lunch, filled with fresh vegetables and perfectly cooked meat. the pub offered a good selection of ales, all reasonably priced, a welcome treat after a long day.
