Highlights

Location: Close to Torre Abbey and main promenade

Rooms: Family accommodations with en-suite facilities

Dining: Cooked English and Irish breakfast options

Value: Rated for the best value in Torquay

“The Bahamas distinguishes itself with a genuinely warm, family-run atmosphere and particularly proactive hosts, which elevates a stay here; little touches like the sculpted tomatoes and attention to individual needs impressed me. It's clear the ongoing refurbishment is matched by attentive service, making it a smart choice near Torquay's attractions. I'd recommend it for a personal touch that stands out.”

Review summary
Based on recent reviews
Powered by AI
The Bahamas in Torquay is known for its spotlessly clean and spacious rooms, some featuring a fridge stocked with water and milk, as well as a hospitality tray. The hotel is conveniently located, placing guests within a short walk of Torre Abbey and approximately 10-15 minutes from Torquay station and the seafront. While some guests have noted an occasional smell in the bathroom drains, many rave about the superb breakfast, exceeding expectations even compared to 5-star hotels.

The bed wasn't great. It sloped downwards. i kept sliding off it during the night. also, the whole place smelled strongly of chinese food. Like a takeaway shop was in the lobby. it was overpowering.

I was greeted warmly and shown around the hotel. my room had tea and coffee facilities plus a mini fridge. the presentation of the optional breakfast really surprised me. I tried the fruit salad and it was amazing.
the bathroom drains had a slight odor, likely from disuse (i think i was one of the only guests).
