“This Gateshead hotel struck me as a practical choice, particularly given its proximity to the Angel of the North. I noticed the hotel accommodates both family and business needs, with meeting spaces and dedicated menus. I think the on-site bar, complete with local ales, could be a real draw after a long day. While some past visitors mention issues with the service, the location remains compelling.”

Review summary
Based on recent reviews

The Angel View Hotel benefits from a superb location, with the Angel of the North easily visible, especially from the spacious beer garden, and very good access to the A1. Guests often appreciate the generously sized rooms, some located in stable cottages with walk-in showers. The full English breakfast is a popular start to the day, and the on-site restaurant serves very good food; however, a few guests have found the décor to be a little tired.

Lovely Staff and Angel View

amazing staffsculpture viewnice facilitiesexpensive price
The staff were amazing and helpful! I appreciate their constant support. They were always on hand. The hotel's proximity to the Angel of the North sculpture offered a wonderful view. The facilities were nice. I found everything very accessible.
The room lacked air conditioning, I found it quite stuffy. The pillows were not great. The bar and restaurant prices seemed expensive for the area.
Rooms

The room had adequate space, with a double bed, a small desk, and a wardrobe! There were two bedside tables with lamps, perfect for reading before sleep. A television was mounted on the wall opposite the bed.

Admirable Stay

warm welcomegood touchdated decor
Staff gave a warm welcome upon arrival. The room I had was clean, spacious, and tidy for a family. Food and drink service was available at the bar and restaurant. Friday night entertainment was a good touch .
I did find the decor rather dated. The door latches also seemed quite loose, which detracted a bit from the otherwise pleasant experience.
