Anantara Desert Islands Resort & Spa is on Sir Bani Yas Island, a natural island. The resort is adjacent to a lagoon and steps from a wildlife sanctuary. The island's bird sanctuary includes native and imported birds, such as the African ostrich, rhea, emu, Egyptian goose, partridge, crane, guinea fowl, and pheasant. Flocks of pink flamingos can be seen in the island's mangroves and lakes. The hotel is 15 km from Sir Bani Yas Island and 4 km from Sir Bani Yas Reserve.
