Guests can visit the spa for massages, body treatments, and facials. The 339-seat Actors' Equity Theatre offers Broadway productions. Two 18-hole public golf courses designed by David Rainville and Jim Brown feature ponds and fairways lined with oak trees, contrasting with the mountain landscape. There are huge fire pits for outdoor gatherings. The weekly farmers' market and downtown village offer shopping, dining, and theatre. Nearby attractions include Carlsbad Beach and Legoland California. SeaWorld, San Diego Zoo, and San Diego Zoo Safari Park are a short drive away.
Location and Transportation
Located in the valley of Escondido, California, Hyatt Vacation Club At The Welk is near Oat Hills (4 km), Stone Farms (4.5 km), and Merriam Mountains (2 km). It is 16 km from Escondido Transit Center and 25 km from McClellan-Palomar Airport. The resort is set among a tree-lined landscape surrounded by rocky hills.
Hotel Services
Wired and wireless Internet access is available for a surcharge. A team of advisors is ready to assist with planning. The resort includes an attached museum devoted to memorabilia from Lawrence Welk.
“This Escondido resort presents itself as a haven for families, with a focus on community and recreation. The multiple pools and activities are definitely a plus for those traveling with children. While the sprawling grounds and live theater aim for a grand experience, I suspect it's the practical touches like villa kitchens that truly resonate with guests.”
