Located on Thesen Island, the hotel is near the Knysna Heads and the Knysna Lagoon. It is 35 km from Plettenberg Bay. The scenic drive to Storms River passes the Bloukrans Bridge, where the world's highest commercial bungee jump can be tackled. Oudtshoorn, with ostrich farms and the Cango Caves, is accessible for day trips. The annual Knysna Wine Festival occurs in July.
