Review summary
Based on recent reviews
Powered by AI
The Red Lion Hotel offers spacious and clean rooms, some newly refurbished, often described as good value for money, in a prime town center location within easy walking distance of shops, bars and eateries. Guests appreciate the king rooms, comfortable beds and good facilities, including tea and coffee. While the hotel sits above a traditional pub with a great atmosphere, some guests have noted that noise can carry into the bedrooms at times, and a few mentioned that the windows could not be opened. The Beautiful Family Room had comfortable beds. The room was spacious enough for my family (it included our two dogs). The bathroom had good quality toiletries.
The room faced the street, and there was some noise.

Acceptable Stay with Some Issues

hot room hard bed
The staff were very friendly there.
Unfortunately, the room was quite hot. The window could not be opened. The bed was also a bit too hard for my liking.

friendly staff restaurant meal chicken pie street noise drunk people early morning bins
The staff was really friendly! They made everything easy. I had a lovely meal in the restaurant. It was chicken pie with winter vegetables. I enjoyed it .
My room faced the street. There was terrible noise even for staying above a pub. Drunks were shouting at 3 and 4 am. Bins were emptied at 5.
