The Hatchet Resort offers accommodations with a rustic, western style. Each room has two queen beds, a full bathroom, a desk, a telephone, Wi-Fi, a 40-inch flat-screen TV, a coffee maker, and individual thermostat controls for radiant heating. Suites, built in 2004, feature vaulted ceilings, Teton views, a refrigerator, a microwave, and a queen bed with a twin daybed and trundle. The Deluxe Room, a freestanding cabin built in 2013, includes a king bed, a twin daybed with trundle, and Teton views. The Hunter's Cabin, a separate cabin, has a king bed in the loft, a living room, a full bath, and a kitchen. The Mount Randolph Cabin offers a queen bed, a private bath, a 40-inch flat-screen TV, a coffee maker, and a gas fireplace. The A-frame Osprey House has five bedrooms and two bathrooms, a living room, and a kitchen with separate access for the upstairs and downstairs.
Dining Options
The Whetstone Restaurant provides a fine dining experience with local fare including steak, elk, and trout. The Historic Hatchet Grill serves breakfast each morning. Sack lunches are available for trips. Menu options include the Hatchet Burger, buffalo burger, salads, and elk medallions. For breakfast, pancakes and Huckleberry French Toast are available. The restaurants feature horseshoe and pine handmade furniture and pine-wood floors.
Leisure and Activities
The Hatchet Resort sits on seven acres of national forest land with views of Mount Moran. Guests can visit nearby Togwotee Pass. The resort offers access to the Snake River through Grand Teton National Park. Activities include horseback riding, fishing, hiking, mountain biking, and wildlife safaris. Guests can find covered wagons, a teepee, and a gazebo outside. Mount Moran Meadow offers a fire pit patio and deck. Corn hole and Frisbee golf are available. The remote south side of the property is adjacent to forest service land and a spring-fed pond.
Location & Access
The Hatchet Resort is in Moran, WY, 50 km from Jackson Hole. It is located just outside of Grand Teton National Park, east of the park on highway US 287, 8 miles from Moran, Wyoming, and 35 miles from the south entrance to Yellowstone National Park. The location borders the Bridger-Teton National Forest. A forest service information center is next to the Hatchet Resort.
