From the hotel you can explore the 3.5km trail that is rich in archaeological remains such as bronze-age chambered cairns and an iron-age broch. Alternatively, embark on the 6 km walk starting at Wick town centre. Dunnet Forest is situated just past the village of Dunnet, where you should start your walk at Dunnet Forest car park. The hotel offers a warm welcome to canine companions. Dunnet beach can be accessed through the car park of the Seadrift Centre just west of Dunnet village, a sandy beach stretching for around three miles. You can also visit Sannick, where during August and September seals can be seen. At the shell beach called the Ness, you can collect 'Groatie buckies' or cowrie shells, or spot wildlife along the beach.
