Suites and Villas
Sapphire Beach Resort has sea front suites, one bedroom/one-bathroom villas, large two bedroom/two bath Pool View Villas, and three bedroom penthouse suites. One-bedroom villas are on the first and second floors of seven Pool View buildings. Two-bedroom Seaview suites have queen sized beds, private bathrooms with hot/cold showers, a full kitchen and a dining area that accommodates six people. Each villa has a separate bedroom with a queen bed, a private bathroom with shower, a full kitchen with a microwave, a refrigerator, a stove/oven, a coffee maker, and a toaster. Rooms include ironing facilities, air conditioning, tea and coffee facilities, a sitting area, a dining table, a patio, and garden furniture. Free toiletries and cookware/kitchen utensils are provided, as well as a flat-screen TV. Purified drinking water, coffee, sugar, and coffee creamer are provided.

Activities and Excursions
Guests can shape their vacation with activities, including fishing, snorkeling, and beach picnics at a secret location behind San Pedro. Options include a stroll through the grounds where monkeys may be seen. A boat trip to Punta Azul offers views of canyon formations and marine life like nassau grouper, horse-eye jack, barracuda, snapper, spider crab, and lobster. The Great Blue Hole day trip leaves at 5:30 am for three dives. A full-day trip includes snorkeling, fishing, and a beach BBQ on a secluded beach in Ambergris Caye. Lunch is offered at the Lighthouse Reef Atoll to see Red Footed Boobie Birds. Snorkeling is available on the waters of Lighthouse Reef Atoll. An area 8-10 feet deep has nurse sharks and sting rays.

Sapphire Beach Resort is 20 km from San Pedro on Ambergris Caye, which is a 17-minute plane ride over Belize's Barrier Reef. Reliable water taxi service runs between Sapphire Beach and San Pedro Town several times per day. Nearby is Cayo Frances - 4.5 km. The back reef near Basil Jones has attractions.

I noted the villas come equipped with full kitchens, making them suitable for longer stays and families, despite the distance from town requiring some planning for supplies. I think the on-site amenities like the pools and dining are adequate, especially the Saturday BBQ, although transportation is a must for exploring the wider area.”
