Rooms at Schwan
The Romantik Hotel Schwan features 22 rooms, each with a design. Room options include single rooms, queen bed rooms, double rooms, and suites. The Family Suite on the second from the top floor includes a living room with a sofa bed, a workplace, a bedroom with a double bed (180cmx200cm), and a single bedroom. An additional single room is available via a connecting door. The Schwan Suite on the second from the top floor has views of the pedestrian zone in Horgen's center. Additional double rooms with connecting doors are available. All rooms feature L'OCCITANE en Provence products, TVs, and free Wi-Fi. Rooms are smoke-free; a smoking terrace is available on the first floor.
Dining at Schwan
The Restaurant Taverne serves lunch and dinner from Tuesday to Saturday. The Schwan Lounge offers cocktails, wines, and beers, along with Lounge Delights. A breakfast buffet is served daily in the restaurant and is included for hotel guests. Outside guests may also enjoy the breakfast buffet. The Vinothek is available for private events. The hotel offers a pick-up service from Tuesday to Saturday, providing menu items as individual components for at-home preparation. Ready-made lunch meals are available for takeaway. A Tavolata menu is available for groups of four or more.
Things to do
The Schwan Lounge has armchairs and sofas in red, white, and dark blue. Piega music systems provide music. Boat trips on Lake Zurich depart from the ship dock, 5 minutes from the hotel, with round trip tickets ranging from CHF 25.00 to CHF 40.00. A paddle-wheel steamer trip to Rapperswil takes two hours. Guided tours of the caves, 'Höllgrotten', near Baar are available. From Horgen, a train to Baar (via Thalwil) is about thirty minutes. The caves are open daily from April to the end of October, 9.00 am to 5.00 pm. Entrance fees are CHF 12.00 for adults and CHF 6.00 for children. A moderate hike through the Sihlwald starts with the local train in Horgen (S2) to Thalwil, then bus 240 to Hausen am Albis.
