The Rhett House Inn offers rooms in the main house, cottages, and Newcastle House. The main house, a 200-year-old building, features 10 rooms across three floors. Ground level rooms (Rooms 6, 7, and 8) offer street access. Room 7 has two queen beds and access to the fountain area. Room 8 has two double beds. Main level rooms (Rooms 1, 9, and 10) are near the parlor, dining room, kitchen, and veranda. Room 1 has a king bed and garden views. Room 9 has a queen bed and an outside entrance. Room 10 has a king bed and a screened-in porch overlooking the garden. The top level contains four rooms: Room 2 (queen bed), Room 3 (king bed), Room 4 (king bed), and Room 5 (queen bed). Cottages across from the main house feature private entrances and sitting areas. Newcastle House includes a gourmet kitchen with a fireplace, dining room table for eight, and a bar.
In-house Dining
The Rhett House Inn serves a Southern breakfast cooked by Chef Beverly on the veranda or in the dining room. The breakfast menu includes eggs, grits, hash browns, bacon, country ham, sausage, biscuits, toast, French toast, blueberry pancakes, cereal, and fruit. Coffee, Southern tea, Bloody Marys, and Mimosas are available. Herbs and vegetables are sourced from the Inn's gardens.
Things to do
Guests can explore Beaufort by bicycle or horse-drawn carriage. The Inn is a five-minute walk from the Downtown Marina, where carriage tours depart. Owner-operated Beaufort Kayak Tours provides narrated natural and cultural history tours in Beaufort County waters. Guests have access to Celadon Club & Spa for $15 per day, which includes a pool, fitness center, and steam room. A partnership with Celadon Club & Spa provides Rhett House Inn guests an exclusive wellness experience.
Location & Access
The Rhett House Inn, founded in 1711, is centrally located in Beaufort's Historic District, near shops and restaurants. The Inn is approximately 65 km from Hilton Head. The Spanish Moss Trail is a 3.3-mile paved trail for bikers, runners, and walkers. Hunting Island State Park is a popular beach area.
