About Puntagrande Hotel
Hotel Puntagrande is in Frontera, 25 km from El Hierro. Built on a tongue of lava rock, the hotel integrates with the surrounding landscape. The hotel has attracted people from the Himalayas to Japan, America to Europe, artists, intellectuals, personalities, politicians, parliamentarians, Generali, journalists, and travelers. The building dates back to 1830. An entire wall displays registration plates of old boats, including the Angela Pando ship plate.

The hotel provides rooms and apartments. Standard rooms feature ocean views, local stone and wood, and traditional seafaring objects, such as bedside tables made from original porthole glass. Rooms include king-size beds, premium linens, and bathrooms with premium amenities and walk-in showers. A minibar is available. The Standard Room with Balcony offers an ocean view. Puntagrande Apartments are near the pier of Las Puntas and include a kitchen, a living area with a table, a sofa and two armchairs, a double room with a queen bed, and a private bathroom with a tub and shower. A solarium terrace provides ocean views. The suite offers a four-poster bed, Japanese-style toilet facilities, and a tantra armchair. Two walls are made of lava stone, and two consist of windows accessing private terraces.

Sushi dishes are created from the fantasy of the chef Garoé. Alma Marina Restaurant opens June 2025 with sea views and locally inspired dishes. The Table Mapping Experience combines 3D video mapping with cuisine, projecting visuals onto dining tables.

The island is ideal for cycling, walking, and diving, organized in collaboration with partners. The hotel is near the Punta de Orchilla. A 3 km walk on a wooden walkway crosses landscapes. Guests can see the Cascadas del Mar municipal swimming pool designed by César Manrique. El Hierro has been declared a UNESCO Biosphere Reserve, featuring landscapes, vegetation, and Sabinar trees.
