Hotel Provincial offers an outdoor pool and courtyards. Guests can unwind at the Ice House Bar, adjacent to the lobby. Annually, the NOLA ChristmasFest takes place in the New Orleans Convention Center, featuring rides, ice slides, an ice skating rink, gingerbread houses, and displays. In December, the City Park hosts Celebration in the Oaks with light displays throughout 25 acres.

Location and Access

Located in the French Quarter on Rue Chartres, Hotel Provincial is steps from Ursuline Convent and a short distance from landmarks. It is 0.5 km from the New Orleans Jazz Museum, Cabildo, and French Market. Louis Armstrong Park is 1 km away, while The National WWII Museum is 2 km from the hotel. Union Station is 2.5 km away, and New Orleans Lakefront is 15 km from the hotel.

Hotel Services

Hotel Provincial provides complimentary high-speed wireless internet access. There is secure on-site valet parking, meeting and banquet rooms, and original artwork throughout the hotel. The Ice House Bar is open daily, with happy hour from 3 p.m. to 6 p.m. Other services include a 24-hour front desk.

“Here's my take: this is a historic French Quarter escape that sets itself apart. The location puts you steps from the action, yet the secluded courtyards offer a quiet retreat. Its unique, family-owned charm feels authentic, setting it apart from typical chain hotels.”

Review summary

Hotel Provincial offers a charming stay in the heart of the French Quarter, placing you just a couple of blocks from the Market and St Peter Square, as well as near wonderful restaurants. Many guests appreciate the spacious king rooms and the fact that the hotel reflects the charm of NOLA. The courtyard provides a relaxing escape, and you can enjoy complimentary coffee there each morning; however, some rooms in the annexe building have been described as very small. A particular highlight is the Ice House Bar, where you can savor a fantastic Sazerac cocktail.

Acceptable Stay, Some Issues Noted

hot water issue dated accommodations
I experienced problems with hot water . I had to call the front desk twice to get it working. The staff member informed me my room was far from the boiler. An apology would have been appropriate. The accommodations seemed a little dated and not entirely clean. For the price I paid, I expected better.
