Solid Stay Near Lake Ashi

helpful stafflake viewspacious roomfree shuttle
The staff was helpful with directions. Fluency in English was rare. A few Japanese phrases helped a lot. The room overlooked the lake and was very spacious. The bathroom was well appointed. The free shuttle service was handy and punctual.
The hotel looks a little dated. Bathrooms has worst color, lighting, mildew stains and wear and tear. But all was ok.
Dining
9/10
The Japanese restaurant offered lovely meals and a diverse menu. Breakfast has western and japanese options. The Lakeside Grill's buffet featured many choices and good quality ingredients. the restaurant was fine.
Rooms
8/10
The room was huge. The bedding was good quality. The toilets were great. The room had pajamas, robes, and slippers for both in the room and the toilet. There were also outer garments in case I got cold.
Location
9/10
The hotel is set by the lakeside. It is a short walk to the Hakone Shrine with Tori. Moto Hakone is nearby and offers cafes and souvenir shops. The Narukawa Art Museum is worth a visit.
Service

The staff was very helpful. They come out to greet me and wave farewell. The shuttle picked us up from the train station, it was convenient. I want to thank them for everything.
