Drifter's Reef Hotel has 61 rooms that vary in type. All rooms include key-less entry, wireless internet, flat screen TVs, air conditioning, cable TV, a coffee maker, a mini refrigerator, and a microwave. Irons, ironing boards, and hair dryers are available upon request. Some units feature a seating area. Towels are cleaned using CDC-approved chemicals. The property has double rooms and suites; pets cannot be accommodated in these rooms.

The hotel features an award-winning on-site restaurant, tiki bar, and sports grill, The Lazy Pirate. Adjacent to the hotel, Lazy Pirate Island Sports Grille and Oyster Bar serves salad, seafood, and burgers for lunch and dinner. The Lazy Pirate is also a local's favorite sports bar with many screens. The Lazy Pirate Island Sports Grille and Oyster Bar features Best Wings in Wilmington.

“The property's next-door restaurant, Lazy Pirate, is memorable, and you might get lucky with Carolina Beach's Thursday fireworks display; being close to the action has its rewards, especially meeting people by the pool. Although some facilities require significant improvements, its location is a definite plus if you are not too demanding. All in all, it's a decent place for a short stay, balancing affordability and convenience.”
