Rooms at Pirate Cove

Pirate Cove provides cabins, bungalows, standard rooms with air conditioning, and deluxe cabins. Cabins and bungalows feature private bathrooms with hot water showers and ceiling fans. Each has a small balcony with a hammock. Bungalows have a double bed and a single bed; some can accommodate an extra single bed. Cabins offer queen-sized beds and two or three single beds, remodeled bathrooms, and a terrace with a hammock and table with chairs. Deluxe cabins include a queen-sized bed, a sitting area with a sofa bed, large bathrooms and terraces, and air conditioning. Air-conditioned rooms, located on the second floor of the main building, include pine cladding and private bathrooms. Each room has garden views.

Dining at Pirate Cove

The hotel serves buffet breakfasts with fresh fruits, homemade bread, fresh juices, Costa Rican coffee, gallo pinto, cheese, milk, cereal, and eggs. Drinks and freshly prepared snacks are available in the late afternoon.

Activities and Amenities

Guests have access to Wi-Fi, 24-hour electricity, laundry service, and kayaks for river use. Pirate Cove offers scuba diving tours to Caño Island with PADI-certified professionals, including lunch at the hotel. Snorkeling is available near the beach. Transportation options include flights from San Jose directly to Drake Bay, or driving with a four-wheel drive vehicle (7 hours from San Jose). Buses from San Jose to Palmar Norte are available via TRACOPA, followed by a taxi to Sierpe and a boat to Drake Bay.
